King Bee Guitars uses top secret methods to create the cosmetic appearance of a finely-tuned, age-old instrument. These methods were the result of years of painstaking efforts to create the most accurate and believable aged look while retaining all of the functionality and tone one would expect from a new guitar. The process always adds to the tone of the instrument because of the careful aging process, and does not reduce resonance or sustain as other relic guitars can. Aging can be done to the customer’s specifications and taste in order to get that vintage guitar you have only dreamt of.
One thing to always keep in mind when shopping for a guitar like this is that cosmetics are the least important part of a guitar. We take great pride in our set-ups which start with a pain-staking process of fret leveling, crowning, and polishing. The Showcase page has lots and lots of vivid photos of just a handful of the guitars that we've had the pleasure of building. While the majority of the guitars that I build are blackguards with a butterscotch blonde finish, we build pelenty of guitars covering the entire custom-color palate as well as sunbursts, candies, custom one-of-a-kinds, and three different tints of blondes ranging from white all the way to the near-orange "the boss" amber hue.
